Bradford White is the only way to go for Gas Water Heaters...
The FVIR System is by far the best design.
Electric brands aren't quite as important.

Around here we have a lot of indirect water heaters and oil fired water heaters.
For indirect water heater I like the SuperStor Ultra made by Heat Transfer Products.
For Oil Fired Water Heaters I like Bock Water Heaters.

We usually stick with Gemline - they've been good to us and we haven't been burnt yet.

I prefer tankless water heater as they are energy efficient and eco-friendly compared to tank water heaters.
When it comes to a brand I usually go with Noritz, Navien, Rinnai as they are more durable and lasts long.
